The first battle!

We have just sold our car at that stage and decided to use this money to purchase this place for the "atronomical" amount of R25000! Not even the price of a quality flat screen TV! The offer was accepted and the change of ownership in progress, but not without the attack of satan. In that same time our Isuzu KB250's engine seized on our way back from Pretoria 22h00 pm, 18km before Potchefstroom! A total damage of R24500! At first we thought: "Lord, we need this money for Makwassie, what should we do?" Well, our Father, who loves us so dearly, provided the lamb! We praise God for people with a passion for God's work and his servants. In one day, God paid the full expense of the bakkie and we could settle the bill in Makwassie! Praise God for AFM Vanderbijlpark South congregation who were obedient to the voice of God. They will always share this wonderful testimony with us!

The Progress

We first layed eyes on this little house, almost 105 years old, on the 20th of April 2008.

We immediately fell in love with this broken, battered place, because we could see the final product through our spiritual eye, not what was in front of our physical eyes. (This is also the way God looks at us, not through the eyes of men, but through His eyes of love, hope and purpose!)

The work began!

On 15 December 2008, the first phase of restoration commenced! Walls came tumbling down, cracks in the floors were repaired ... it was dust, dust, dust everywhere, but our hearts rejoiced!

On the 2
0th of December, Braam, his parents, his son and their team of workers, joined us in Makwassie to assist us. God placed the same passion in their hearts for Place of Restoration and they brought with them building material in abundance! It was pipes, taps, ceiling boards, fencing, poles and they even provide the whole team with food for 4 days!

4 Days of Sweat & Dust!

We all work in unity for 4 whole days! Every muscle in our bodies ached and Braam suffered from a lack of calcium due to too much perspiration. "Braam, it was worth every drop of sweat!!" We stopped our work on the 24th, Christmas eve and Braam and his team return back to Barkley West. We were exhausted, but our hearts were filled with so much gratitude and joy!

10 January 2009
..the work continue..

The new year brought new strength and passion for Place of Restoration and Braam came back with his team to finish phase 1. The plumbing and electricity were completed, ceiling boards were fitted for the kitchen and bathroom, replacement of windows and tiling of the bathroom and other smaller tasks completed. Praise God!!!

God enlarged our territory!

1Ch 4:10  Jabez prayed to the God of Israel: "Bless me, O bless me! Give me land, large tracts of land. And provide your personal protection--don't let evil hurt me." God gave him what he asked.

Current Restoration!

Francois and is currently busy with the final buidling repairs to the house and soon we will be able to start with the interior. We still need to lay carpets, more tiling, cupboards, stove ect, and we trust God for provision to complete this phase.

4400m² MIRACLE !!

God is the Lord of wonders and provision! Next to our erf (2200m²) lies a vacant erf (2200m²) ideal for the purpose of establishing the Place of Restoration (hall and rooms for approximately 150-200 people)! We thought that maybe somewhere in the future God will make it possible for us to enlarge our territory and neglect the fact that we have the dominion and authority to speak a word of faith and call those things that be not just as thou they were! A month or so later we decide to locate the owner of this vacant land and we made him an offer which he immediately accepted! We went to the local attorney and ask them to draw up the necessary papers... in faith!! We were on our way to a men's camp in Warrenton and on this camp, God provided almost half the money needed!
The following provision came in a very strange way! At a camp in Nelspruit, a senior man and his wife brought us a tin, a very heavy tin! When we opened it, it was filled with 5 Shillings! Old house, old coins??? Well, a couple of weeks later at a camp in Pretoria, the Lord sent a man to us who purchased the whole collection of shillings. Yes! We paid the outstanding amount as well as the attorney's fees in FULL. Now we are waiting for the final papers!

Praise be to Jehovah Jireh!!
