NWBC CHARITY TEAM PUT IN PLACE FOR 2010!

The primary focus of our Charity Division is to assist our congregation and their families who are in need and secondary to launch special projects on a regular basis in our immediate area. We are currently supporting needy people in Orkney on Vaal who are living in very poor conditions as well as a mainly white squatter's camp in Krugersdorp.
Coronation Park Squatter's Camp Krugersdorp - 16 June 2010
It was a shivering cold winter's day, but the icy weather could not stop the burning fire in the hearts of a few passionate people with dedicated hearts for God's work! The wonderful inspiration to do something special for this people came from the warm hearts of a few hairdressers in Klerksdorp after Drieka Maree from the NWBC told them about the poor conditions in this squatter's camp. Elanie, Lorraine and Charlean from Design-X, Mary-Ann from Razor Heads and Chané from Head Rush decided to join forces! They sacrificed their holiday to go and give all the ladies and kiddies of the camp a professional cut & blow! We were approximately 35 bikers from the NWBC who departed with them from the Flamwood Mall @ 08H00. It was an icy morning, but we all passed the test! There was no turning back!
Tears stream from our eyes when we entered the camp and saw the conditions in which these people are living. A baby was born 5 days prior to our visit in one of the tents without anyone to assist the mother. We saw kiddies and babies suffering from flue, bronchitis, asthma and other sicknesses...it were heartbreaking!
The bikers started to prepare boerewors rolls for the whole camp and Tom McMurray (Pres of M.O.B) blessed al the squatters with 600 muffins! They had a feast!
We thank all the volunteers who gave their time and support to make this a successful outreach! Thank you for every donation which empowered us to give blankets, clothes, food, toiletries and many more to help carry the burden of this people.
Also a special thanks to Drieka & Tinus Maree who orchestrated this blessed outreach. You did God proud, amen!!!
GIFT RUN TO ORKNEY VAAL
18 DEC '09
For those who are regular Facebook users, would have seen the invite on North-West Biking Events's page. People were asked to donate gifts to the children in the Orkney Vaal white squatters camp. The gifts were taken to them on the 18th of Dec by President André & Liezel Rossouw from Wild & Free MCC in Stilfontein. Many thanks to Smitty & Charlotte, President team of CMA Klerksdorp who joined them in their highly appreciated effort. The bikers departed from the old Prison in Ellaton at 18h00 and spent some quality time with the kiddies. They handed out christmas presents to all of them and they had a wonderful time altogether!
Klerksdorp Toyrun 2009 - A Toy Raising Miracle!
On Friday afternoon 20 Nov, Spikes Lawrence, co-ordinator of the Klerksdorp Toyrun, told us that the gift-raising at the Klerksdorp Pick & Pay was not going as expected and there were only 6 toys in the huge bin placed inside the store for this purpose! We decided to take action! Spikes arranged for us to promote the Toyrun the next morning in front of Pick & Pay and we arrived at approx 08H00. It was true! There were only 6 toys in the bin! We started to motivate the customers of Pick & Pay, Crazy Stores and Ackerman to open their hearts and their pockets and then the miracle happened...! At 16h00 Saturday afternoon, the bin was flooded with toys, but, but, but.....also 2 bins of Crazy Stores and another 6 Pick & Pay trolleys were filled with toys, toys, toys!
Little Pedro, our red-head evangelist, was the main attraction! He was full of kisses for all the girls and the older tannies! Oom Francois had his hands full trying to keep his little partner focused on the goal for the day and not on the beautiful Klerksdorp ladies!
We praise God for over 500 brand new toys that were donated for this 27th annual Toyrun! Thank you to every club and biker that assisted us on Saturday and also Sunday at the actual Toyrun. Blessings, Ps Francois & René

POTCH BULLDOGS EN CROSSROADS KUIER BY ABRAHAM KRIEL KINDERHUIS
24 OKT 2009
